Our History: The Legacy of Banarsi Weaving

The legacy of Banarsi weaving is a story of passion, artistry, and timeless tradition that began in the heart of Varanasi, where silk has spoken for centuries. Haji Moinuddin didn’t just create fabric—he crafted poetry in silk, weaving heritage and vision into every thread. His mastery, passed down through generations, laid the foundation for a rich tradition of Banarsi weaving that continues to inspire.

In 1956, this legacy crossed borders to Banaras Town, Karachi, where Haji Moinuddin redefined handloom weaving under humble beginnings. His dedication transformed garments into treasured heirlooms, blending reverence for tradition with an unwavering pursuit of beauty.

Today, under the stewardship of the third generation—the grandsons carrying forward the family name Hassan Brothers—the legacy of Banarsi weaving evolves with fresh creativity and modern sensibilities. Zahra Maham proudly continues this journey, honoring heritage while innovating the timeless art of Banarsi craftsmanship. Every piece tells a story—woven with soul, history, and artistry for those who cherish true craftsmanship.
